The work shown on this site consists of prints of various types, oil paintings and painted constructions. Most of the work is experimental in nature, particularly in the use of materials but also in the handling of space and form. The printmaking techniques used to produce the prints offer a host of processes to experiment with. Materials borrowed from the sign trade such as cut vinyl, photo processes and substrates, not usually associated with fine art, play a role in many of the pieces. The work has been influnced by the work of different artists which include Dutch landscape painting, post impressionist, early cubist work, surrealism as well as ancient and renaissance art. The work is also influenced by religious ideas and symbolism and though it does not embrace any specific traditions, these ideas are important to the work.
